Pine Tree Park There are 28 health and fitness facilities and 25 badminton courts. People enjoy looking at a beautiful pond and having small talks at a pavilion in the park. They can also walk in the pine tree forest. You can take a bus near Suyu Station on subway line 4 in order to go there. Ecological Park This park is a home to many animals. The park has a marsh area, a reservoir area, and a forest area. People can observe and study animals in nature. They have the Firefly Festival every July. Please be quiet there because animals do not like noises. Get off at Gangdong Station on subway line 5 and take a bus to enjoy the beautiful nature. Independence Park Many Korean independence activists독립운동가 were put in Gyeongseong Prison경성감옥 during the Japanese Colonial Period일제강점기 (1910-1945). The government decided to preserve the building in order to remember Korea’s dark history. They made a park out of the building area in 1992. Many foreign tourists and Koreans visit there every year. It is not far from Dongnimmun Station on subway line 3. Marronnier Park They fixed the park for three years and reopened last fall. People can enjoy outdoor performances and artworks there.
