Whoa! The Ground is Shaking!

Do you know what an earthquake is? It¡¯s when the ground shakes. And sometimes it¡¯s when the ground cracks!
When an earthquake happens many buildings fall. People get hurt too. Why does an earthquake happen? Why does the ground shake and crack? Well, it¡¯s because under the ground there are big rocks.
It¡¯s quite interesting. These rocks under the ground are always moving! They move slowly. That¡¯s why we can¡¯t feel them. But when rocks hit each other, the ground shakes. And when they hit hard, grounds start to crack.
Don¡¯t be afraid. Big earthquakes don¡¯t happen in Korea. In Japan and China, earthquakes happen every year. Scientists are trying to find out how to stop the earthquakes.
