Thandiwe Abdullah is a young political activist from the United States. She began attending protests as a child with her mother, Melina Abdullah, a co-founder of the Black Lives Matter movement. At age 9, she spoke at a rally for Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old African American who was fatally shot by a neighbor. At 17, she helped create the Black Lives Matter Youth Vanguard for young activists aged 6 to 18. She also worked on school programs about fairness and justice and helped fight against random police searches in schools. In 2018, she spoke at the Women¡¯s March, inspiring people across the nation.
